:: ABOUT F2F ::First among the numerous goals of our annual fitness relay is to honor fallen firefighters throughout the United States. In an effort to change the leading cause of death among firefighters, which is heart disease, we are working to raise awareness within the fire service regarding health and wellness. It is imperative that we bring attention to the wellness and lifestyle habits of our firefighters in an effort to decrease heart disease and cardiac related deaths. With the many dangers that we face on a daily basis, a healthy diet coupled with a daily workout program is typically all we need to maximize our wellness. HOW THE F2F RELAY WORKS: Teams of at least two will run in front of our support vehicles from Atlanta to Forsyth. The entire distance will be covered with at least two team members on the road at all times. In order to accumulate mileage for your team, at least two team members must be on the road. One of the team members must be wearing a B/A and another team member must be carrying a flag the entire time you are on the road. HOW TO TAKE HOME THE RED, WHITE, AND BLUE HELMET: The team who accumulates the most mileage on the road will take home the helmet. It will be presented to the winning team at the training center at Forsyth. FIT TO FIGHT DESERT CHALLENGE After coming to the 2007 event in Atlanta, GA - Hakim Benmoussa has started the Fit To Fight Desert Challenge which is a Western United States version of the Fit To Fight event in Georgia.
